Era Motorsport stays in IMSA

Era Motorsport will do another season of IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship racing.

The team from Indianapolis will start their fourth season in LMP2 racing with a well-known full-season lineup. That will be Dwight Merriman and Ryan Dalziel who will race the blue car #18 throughout the 7 race weekends.

The season starts with the 24 hours race at Daytona International Speedway, and they have once again decided to call up Christian Rasmussen. The Dane made his debut for the team at the 2022 final at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this October, and he did such a good job, that he has been given all four Michelin Endurance Cup rounds in 2023.

Oliver Jarvis will be an additional help at the Rolex24. Jarvis is the defending Champion in the DPi category, but has opted for a full FIA WEC season in 2023 instead. So he didn’t sign any full-season IMSA contracts, since there are three race weekends clashing those two series.

Era Motorsport took one win in 2022, when they won at Road America in the sprint race. That was Merriman and Dalziel behind the wheel on that occasion. They were previously paired up with Kyle Tilley, but due to several concussions over the years, he decided to end his racing career, and instead focus on being team boss. That was actually why Christian Rasmussen joined the team for the 2022 season finale.

The Rolex 24 at Daytona 2023 will be run on 28-29 January, where the aim for the team is to repeat their 2021 win.
